Nojima's review of my book Multitude.

In April 2023, I briefly met Nobuyuki Nojima near Tokyo, and he showed me some of his miracles with dice.

Nobuyuki Nojima is one of Japan’s leading magic creators, publishing original magic and lecture notes since the age of fifteen and contributing his work to international publications such as M-U-M. His competitive achievements include winning the UGM Magic Convention in 2018, first place in Close-Up at the 2021 Japan National Championship of Magic, and an Invention Award at the 2025 FISM World Championship of Magic. He has also appeared extensively on Japanese television, including TBS and Fuji TV, most recently competing in Fuji TV’s 2026 Japan’s No.1 Magician Championship.

At the time, I had no idea that he had written a review of the Japanese edition of my book Multitude!

The book is packed with the results of his research into a trick deck called the Multieffect Deck.
It is a deck you can make yourself, capable of producing an astonishing variety of effects: impossible locations, mate productions, demonstrations of skill, sandwich effects, predictions, Out of This World effects, and much more.
I (Nojima) had handled this deck before, but I had no idea it was capable of producing so many different effects. Its range is broad enough that you could practically perform an entire show with this one deck.

I was particularly blown away by VISION OF THE FUTURE. While the performer stands away from the deck with his back turned, the deck is shuffled, the spectator freely removes a card from anywhere in the deck, and the performer identifies it without ever looking at the faces of the cards. Of course, no forcing deck or stooge is used. There are no electronics either. If you wanted to, you could even repeat the effect. Is something like this really possible? Yes, it is. With the Multieffect Deck.

The book also includes links to a video collection filmed by Vincent specifically for this book, featuring performances and explanations of the tricks (all in English). So if you find yourself wondering what the routines actually look like in performance, you can see them for yourself.
